Pony Beads Instructions
Beads are a versatile medium that can be woven, strung and stitched into place. Beads can make all kinds of jewelry, key chains and accessories. Pony beads are the largest size beads that you can use to create whatever you are in the mood for. Before you begin beading your design, make sure that you have all of the tools that you will need to complete your project near you and neatly organized.

1
Begin by cutting a length of cord that is comfortable to work with. Depending on your project this could be about 2 to 3 feet of length. Thread the first bead on and tie a knot behind it. Make sure that the knot is large enough that the beads won't come off the cord.
-
2
Lay out the beads that you will be using in the design in little containers or lay some of each color on a towel over a lap desk or table. This will help keep the beads from rolling off your work surface.

3
Thread on the beads according to the pattern or design that you are following, or thread beads on as you go and see what you can create. Check your work frequently for mistakes, kinks in the cord and for extra spaces between the beads.
-
4
Attach a clasp by threading the cord through the loop of the clasp and tying a knot to secure it. If you are making a key chain or some other kind of decoration, you may not need to attach a clasp. However, you can knot the end and trim the excess off.
-
5
Dab the knots with Super Glue to secure them and keep them from unraveling.
