2. Pass a medical test and screening. This determines if you are healthy enough to donate and whether your veins are large enough, and it makes sure you are free of any diseases. You need to be at least 18 years old and weigh over 110 pounds.

3. Make an appointment for the procedure after you have passed the screening (it takes several days to find this information out).

4. Allow the professional to hook the plasma machine up to you. This machine removes the plasma from your blood, then circulates it back into your body. This process can take several hours. It is best not to drive home after finishing as you may be lightheaded.
