How to Qualify for a Home Depot Credit Card

Credit cards help with home improvement purchases.

As the world's largest home improvement specialty retailer, The Home Depot is credited with creating the "do-it-yourself" concept, an idea that now is embraced around the world. The Home Depot uses credit rating information from Equifax, one of three credit reporting agencies in the United States, to determine if applicants qualify for a Home Depot credit card. Like other companies, The Home Depot does not release specific information about its credit rating requirements. Applicants with lower credit ratings still may qualify but receive lower credit limits and higher interest rates on outstanding balances. The best way to find out if you qualify for a Home Depot credit card is to apply for one.

Depending on your credit rating, the interest rate charged on your Home Depot consumer credit card will range from 17.99 percent annual percentage rate (APR) to 29.99 percent APR; fewer than half of applicants qualify for a rate of less than 25.99 percent APR.
