How to Convert TIFF Files to JPEG With Adobe CS2 thumbnail
Convert your TIFF-formatted images to JPEG using Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Adobe Photoshop is one of the world's most widely used graphic design applications. It helps photographers and designers create and edit bitmap images by adjusting color modes, modifying document sizing, applying filters and effects, adding text and shapes and much more. The program also supports the import and export of many image types, including both the print-focused TIFF and Web-focused JPEG formats. Photoshop CS2 makes converting from one format to the other a quick process.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Adobe Photoshop CS2.

    • 2

Click "File" in the top menu bar and select "Open."

    • 3

Locate your TIFF file and open it in Photoshop by double-clicking its icon.

    • 4

Click "Image" in the top menu bar, select "Mode," and choose "8 Bits/Channel." The JPEG format is limited to eight bits per channel.

    • 5

Click "Image" and select "Mode" again. Select one of three color modes -- "RGB Color," "CMYK Color," or "Grayscale" -- to ensure compatibility with the JPEG format.

    • 6

Click "File" in the top menu bar and select "Save As."

    • 7

Choose a save location and give the JPEG file a name.

    • 8

Click the "Format" drop-down menu, select "JPEG" from the list of options, and then click "Save."

    • 9

Select your preferred image quality level and formatting options in the resulting "JPEG Options" dialog box, and then click "OK." Your TIFF image will be converted to JPEG format within seconds.
