Folding Instructions for an Origami Desk Calendar
Origami desk calendars are a welcome gift for those who are interested in the paper folding art. They provide a daily diversion for advanced origami enthusiasts and good practice for beginners. The origami desk calendar consists of 365 square pages, each with an origami diagram for the day. The previous day's page, which is removed from the calendar, is used to make the origami diagram. The calendar pages are colorful and designed to make the next day's design attractive.
Instructions

1
Tear off the previous day's page from the calendar. Do not discard the page because it will be used to create the design found on the current day's page.
-
2
Read the directions and study the diagram on the current day's page thoroughly to make sure you understand the steps.

3
Fold the previous day's calendar page according to the directions on the current day's page. For example, if the diagram and instructions are for an origami swan, you will make the previous day's page into the swan. Some calendars are designed so that each day's instructions are more advanced than the previous ones. Therefore, performing each day's folds will increase your origami skill as the year progresses.

Check for corrections to the design if the instructions do not seem to work. Some origami desk calendar manufacturers post corrections on their websites. Find the website listed on the box or the back pages of the calendar. Visit the site and make any corrections for that day. If there are no corrections for that day, start over with the day's diagram and try again.

Tips & Warnings
String the origami models you make from the calendar pages on monofilament or thread and hang them from the ceiling for an interesting mobile. Since all the models will be small, a hanging group of them makes an interesting, eye-catching display.
Alternatively, you can give the origami models to friends or family as a "just because" gift. People appreciate small, handmade articles such as origami models more than you would think.
Some origami page-a-day calendars are in a loose leaf format and some are in a tear-away format. The loose leaf format tends to help you avoid tearing the calendar sheets as you remove the previous day's page for folding.
