How to Maintain and Clean an Exterior Glass Railing

An exterior glass railing provides a modern, elegant look to a home or building exterior while also being durable and fairly easy to maintain. The clean, crisp look of the glass quickly dulls when fingerprints and outdoor weather leaves the railing soiled and unattractive. To properly maintain the railing, you must use a solution that will remove all of the residue without leaving a film on the railing when it dries. This can be done with a low-cost cleaning solution.

Things You'll Need

• Spray bottle
• Water
• Vinegar
• Lint-free cloth

Instructions

1. Pour 2 cups water and 2 cups vinegar into a spray bottle.

2. Spray the vinegar and water solution onto the glass railing.

3. Wipe the glass firmly with a lint-free cloth, which removes residue without leaving lint particles behind.

4. Spray and wipe as needed until all residue is removed. Also remember to clean the underside of the railing, where people's fingertips usually grip the railing. The vinegar is not only a cleaner, but also a disinfectant that will kill germs and bacteria.

5. Repeat until the entire railing is clean.
