A bare wood floor is an attractive flooring option in many homes. The wood is resistant to most buildup and residue, however smudges do sometimes develop when a foot print, hand print or drop of food smears the floor's surface. For small smudges, hand clean with a cleaning rag. For larger smudges, use a mop to clean the area. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Spray bottle
  • Vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Cleaning rag
  • Mop

Instructions

    • 1

      Pour 2 cups water, 1 cup vinegar and 1 tbsp. liquid dish detergent into a spray bottle.

      Spray the solution directly over the smudges.

    • 3

      Wipe each individual smudge off of the floor with a damp cleaning rag, or moisten a mop slightly with water and wipe over the entire flooring.

    • 4

      Repeat until all smudges are removed from the bare wood and allow the floor to air dry.
