How to Clean Up Cookies on Windows thumbnail
Clean up cookies on Windows with ease.

Windows is an operating system installed on and compatible with many computers. Cookies are small files stored on your computer each time you visit a webpage. These temporary files are harmless for the most part, but do allow your computer to store usernames and passwords when logged into websites. This becomes problematic when you have a shared computer, as fellow users can access your information. You can clean up your cookies at the click of a few buttons.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Tools" tab from the toolbar menu at the top of your browser page.

    • 2

      Click "Internet Options."

    • 3

Click "Delete Browsing History" from the gray display box. This will delete both cookies and temporary Internet files from your computer.

    • 4

Delete these files once per week, or as needed.
