Homemade Glass Cleaners Using Ammonia

Clean glass with ammonia.

Glass becomes noticeable when soil and film develop, as you quickly see all of the impurities on the surface every time you look out a glass window or sit a drink on a glass table. Glass cleaning products are available at any grocery or hardware store, but these are often pricey and sometimes even leave a cloudy film behind. To clean glass properly and leave no residue behind, use a homemade glass cleaner with an ammonia base.

Things You'll Need

• Spray bottle
• Water
• Ammonia
• Vinegar
• Dish soap
• Lint-free rags or newspaper

Instructions

1. Fill a spray bottle with 2 cups water, 1/2 cup ammonia, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 tsp. dish soap. Combined, these ingredients cut through film, kill bacteria and dry clear and streak-free.

2. Spray a mist of this solution onto your glass surface.

3. Wipe the glass clean using a lint-free rag or a handful of crumpled newspaper. Wipe in large circles, and repeat until the entire glass surface is clean.
