How to Remove Candle Wax From Votive

Candle wax get be hard to remove once it gets on a glass votive.

When you light candles inside a votive, you are likely to get dried wax on the votive. It can be quite difficult to remove, so it's best to take preventative measures. Pour a small amount of water into a votive before putting a lighted candle inside. Once you do get wax on your votive, it is possible to remove with a few simple tricks.

Things You'll Need

• Screwdriver
• Liquid dish soap
• Sponge
• Large bowl

Instructions

1. Take the candle out of the votive, and put the votive in a freezer.

2. Leave the votive in the freezer for three hours.

3. Take the votive out of the freezer, and chip off the wax with a screwdriver, being careful not to scratch the votive.

4. Wait for the votive to warm back to room temperature on its own.

5. Fill a large bowl with warm water and one teaspoon liquid dish soap.

6. Place the room temperature votive in the water and scrub off any remaining bits of wax with a sponge.
