How to Find a Poll Booth

There are several ways to find your assigned polling place.

Your polling place is specifically assigned to you based on your voter registration address. In most cases you can only vote at your assigned polling place, and the location can change from election to election. Before heading out to vote, be sure you know the location of your polling place for the current election. If you don't know or are not sure, there are several ways to find it.

Instructions

1. Look for your polling place location on the sample ballot mailed to you in advance of the election. Participating states usually include your polling place above or near your name and address.

2. Visit your state's official election website. Each state's website is different, but a link to finding your polling place is generally prominently displayed on the homepage or under "Voter Information." Enter your physical address when prompted and follow your state's website's directions to narrow your search and generate your polling place.

3. Call your local election official (see Resources to look up online). Provide your name and address and the poll official will tell you where your polling place is. Some election offices may be able to do this via an automated system using only your address.
