How to Replace a Brake Bulb on a 1992 Toyota Van

Toyota's van sold from 1991 to 1997 was known as the Previa. It was replaced by the Toyota Sienna for the 1998 model year. The Previa has three brake bulbs. Two are on the back of the van, housed in the tail-light assembly. The other is on top of the cargo door. This brake light is called a third-brake light. Whether you need to replace one of the brake bulbs or all of them, the procedure shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.

Twist the old bulb off. Wrap the new bulb in a paper towel to prevent touching it with your hand. Insert the new bulb and tighten it. Re-attach the secondary cover.

    • 5

Firmly push the housing back in place to re-engage the clip.
