How to Clear the Maintence Light on a 2006 Toyota Corolla

Many Toyota vehicles, including the Corolla, Yaris, Camry and Tundra, come with a maintenance-reminder system. This light appears on the odometer when your vehicle is due for an oil change. The procedure to reset the system is similar, but slightly different between Toyota models. Clearing the maintenance light in the 2006 Corolla takes less than five minutes. The process is the same in all ninth-generation Corolla vehicles (2003 to 2008).

  • Turn your ignition on to view the odometer. Press your "Trip" stem until the display shows "Odo," instead of "Trip A" or "Trip B."

  • Turn the ignition off. Press and hold the "Trip" stem. Turn the ignition back on, while continuing to hold the "Trip" stem.

  • Wait until the odometer shows "000000." This lets you know that the maintenance light is reset. Release the "Trip" stem and remove the key.
