Instructions

    • 1

Fill the cooling reservoir with distilled water and wet the sponge. Insert the soldering tool into its safety holder, then plug the power cord into the EC2002M power receptacle (on the side of the machine) and rotate the plug locking device to secure it. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded AC receptacle. Turn on the EC2002M.

    • 2

Watch the LED screen. After displaying "888" for two seconds, it will then display the temperature that the unit has been set to (i.e., the temperature that the tool will heat up to) for three seconds. If this setting is not your desired temperature, adjust the temperature setting using the temperature set knob.

    • 3

Turn the temperature set knob (located on top of the machine) slightly counterclockwise and the LED display will show the new (altered) temperature (set mode) that the unit will set itself to (the numbers will decrease as you twist). Twist the knob counterclockwise to lower the set temperature, twist the knob clockwise to raise the set temperature.

    • 4

Release the temperature set knob when you have reached the temperature desired for the tool. After three seconds of displaying the new set temperature, the LED will display the current temperature of the heating tool (read mode). You must wait until the LED displays the temperature you selected before beginning to solder.

    • 5

Repeat the set mode and read mode adjustment procedure as necessary to further adjust the machine to your desired temperature setting. While the unit is in its read mode, the LED may display fluctuating temperature numbers. This represents normal fluctuations in the tool's temperature load, and does not indicate that any further adjustment is required.

    • 6

Remove the soldering tool from the safety holder when the unit temperature (read mode) reaches your desired set temperature (set mode). Tin the tool tip with solder to begin soldering.
