How to Clean Dyson Vacuum Canisters

Dyson vacuum cleaners work most efficiently with a clean canister. Regular cleaning allows for stronger suction and air flow. Dyson recommends emptying the canister in the trash when dirt reaches the "max" marking and rinsing it with water to remove any excess.

Things You'll Need

• Paper towels
• Trash bag

Instructions

1. Press the "Cyclone release" button on the top of the canister. Pull the handle forward to remove the canister from the vacuum.

2. Hold the canister inside a trash bag or bin. Pull the trigger on the handle to release the dirt through the bottom of the canister. Tap the canister against the trash bin or with your hand to release any remaining dirt.

3. Press the bin release button and lift the cyclone assembly from the clear canister. Wipe down the cyclone assembly with a damp paper towel, and rinse the canister thoroughly with running water.

4. Dry the canister with a towel. Place the cyclone assembly back inside the canister while lining up the catches.

5. Replace the canister on the vacuum cleaner.
