How to Download Videos From YouTube with Explorer 7

If you have been watching videos on YouTube in your Internet Explorer 7 Web browser and have found clips that you would like to download, you can do so by using a downloading system that captures and converts YouTube videos into digital movie downloads. KeepVid and ClipNabber are online downloading systems that can capture video from YouTube and work with Internet Explorer 7.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your Web browser. Go to the KeepVid or ClipNabber website.

    • 2

Open YouTube in a second tab or browser window. On the main page of YouTube, enter the name of the video that you would like to download into the search box. Press "Enter." When the search results display, click on the correct link for the video in the search results.

    • 3

Copy the video's URL. To copy the URL, highlight the entire address in the address bar and press "Ctrl" and "C."

    • 4

Go back to the KeepVid or ClipNabber page. Right click in the URL box on the page and choose the "Paste" option. The URL of the video appears in the URL box.

    • 5

Click the "Download" or "Nab Video" button that appears next to the URL box. When the download is complete, KeepVid or ClipNabber displays two separate download links on the page.

    • 6

Click the MP4 or the FLV link to download that version of the file. MP4 is ideal for MP3 players, but either file has roughly the same quality and picture size.

Tips & Warnings

  • Depending on the length of the video you are attempting to download from YouTube in Internet Explorer 7, the download can take from a few minutes to an hour or more. Don't close the KeepVid or ClipNabber page while the video is downloading, or the process will end and you must start again.
