How to Create Recovery CDs for Windows XP Installed on a Dell 755 Server

Creating a recovery CD for a Windows XP installed on your Dell 755 server will provide you with insurance against the possibility of data loss through accident or hardware failure. This is done by using the Backup utility in the Windows XP operating system to create a full backup of the computer, saving the file to CD.

• Blank CD

Instructions

1. Click "Start." Open "Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools," and click "Backup."

2. Select "Back up files and folders" and click "Let me choose what to back up."

3. Check the box next to the folders and files you wish to be included on your recovery CD.

4. Click on the Desktop as the location to store your backup file and press "Finish."

5. Insert a blank CD and select "Open Writable CD Folder." Drag and drop the backup file to the CD folder and click "Write these files to CD."
