How to Have an LCR Dice Game Fundraiser
Fundraising can be a difficult task. It is hard to ask someone for money, even for a good cause. One way to involve more people and bring in more money is to provide entertainment. Having people pay to play a game, such as LCR, is an enjoyable way to raise funds.
LCR is a simple dice game. The game is based on the luck of the roll of the dice. LCR can easily be converted to a large group of players and used to raise funds for your cause.

Establish a theme. An interesting theme for LCR is a political theme since Democrats are considered “left” and Republicans are considered “right”. Decorate in red, white and blue with balloons and streamers. Have guests come dressed as their favorite politician. Consider hosting the event near election time.

Choose food with the same political theme. Serve an all-American menu. “Life in the USA” suggests hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw and apple pie. Decorate the food table with large LCR dice created from 3-by-3-inch boxes. Place red, white and blue candies at each table.

Get the word out. Create a flyer using your theme. Include a picture of the LCR dice game and a brief description of the game. Mail or pass out invitations in a square box made to look like LCR dice.

Create tally sheets for each player. Use a flattened cube box to be used for both the tally sheets and later to create a box to take home small gifts donated by local businesses. Make sure to include a picture of the LCR dice and a place for the player’s name.

Make a fundraising goal for this event. Consider a dollar amount that is reasonable for a night of entertainment. To create addition funds for your cause, have everyone roll one LCR die when they come in. Choose an additional dollar amount they can donate if they roll a L, C, R or dot.
Playing the Game with a Large Group

Seat the players at tables of four. Place three tables of four in a section. This will be called one triangle of players. Each table needs one set of LCR dice, 12 poker chips and four tally boxes. A player will need three poker chips to start the game. Mark each table with table identification–L, C or R.

Play five rounds of LCR according to the directions of the game. At the end of each round, the winner marks down a tally on their box. The two winners from each table move up to another table in the triangle and two new players from the triangle join the table. For example, L moves to C, C moves to R and R moves to L. This will keep play interesting.

Continue two more sets of five rounds, moving up as described. At the end of 15 rounds of LCR, the player with the most wins gets a prize. Prizes can be donated from local businesses or people attending the fundraiser. In the case of a tie, do a roll off. One winner from each triangle will then play another five rounds for a grand prize. If the prizes are cash instead of donated items, the winner can choose to donate them back to the fundraiser.
