How to Block Pop Up Websites

Pop-up websites are small websites that often open when you visit another website. These pop-up websites often are related to the website you are intending to visit. In some cases, pop-up websites are advertisements for a product or service. In other cases, pop-up websites are created by the website you are visiting. These pop-ups might include a request to provide feedback or fill out a survey. You can block pop-up websites in Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox.

Instructions

Internet Explorer

1. Click the "Internet Explorer" icon to open the browser.

2. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Pop-up Blocker."

3. Click "Turn on Pop-up Blocker." Internet Explorer will now block pop-up websites.

Safari

1. Click the "Safari" icon in your dock to open the web browser.

2. Click the "Safari" menu at the top left of the browser window.

3. Check "Block Pop-Up Windows." Safari will now block pop-up websites.

Firefox

1. Click the "Firefox" icon to open the browser.

2. Click the "Options" menu.

3. Click "Web Features."

4. Check the box next to "Block pop-up Windows."

5. Click "Apply" and "OK." You now have blocked pop-up websites in Firefox.
