How to Connect Your iPhone to a Linksys WiFi

To get the most out of your iPhone, you will need to take advantage of the device’s Wi-Fi functionality. Not only will it give you far greater reliability than the standard 3G network, but it will allow you to download the largest apps, stream high-quality videos and surf the Internet with ease. If you have access to a Linksys router, you can use the Wi-Fi signal with your iPhone, but you will need to set it up.

  • Click the "Settings" icon on the home screen of your iPhone.

  • Click the "Wi-Fi" tab. It should appear as your second option on the list.

  • Click the Wi-Fi switch once to set it to "On" if it appears in the "Off" position. If it already appears as "On," you can leave it alone.

  • Wait for your list of available networks to show up on the page. It may take a few moments for your iPhone to locate the local Wi-Fi signals.

  • Click the Wi-Fi network that corresponds to the Linksys router you wish to access. It may appear as a series of letters and numbers, or it may appear under a specific name set by the router's administrator. If you do not know the default network name on your router, you may find it printed directly on the device, along with the serial number and other information.

  • Enter the WEP key (password) for the Linksys router. When you choose your Wi-Fi signal, a pop-up window will appear asking for this important information. After you enter it, your iPhone will connect you to the wireless network.
