How to Export Email From Entourage to MS Outlook on a PC

Entourage is the Mac-only email application provided as part of the Microsoft Office for Mac suite. Microsoft Outlook is the PC-only email application provided as part of the Microsoft Office for Windows suite. Despite both being part of Microsoft Office and created by Microsoft, they use different, incompatible database formats. Luckily, there’s a fairly simple and rudimentary way of moving your emails from Entourage into Outlook on your PC.

  • Open Microsoft Outlook on the PC, and add your email account. Select "Tools" > "Account Settings" > "New" to access the "New Account" setup wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions and enter your email account details (such as your log in and password).

  • Insert a USB flash drive into an open USB slot on the Macintosh computer. Open the USB flash drive and create a new folder (”File” > “New Folder”) for each email folder within Entourage. This means you will need to create a new folder and name it “Inbox,” “Sent” and “Drafts,” for example.

  • Open Microsoft Entourage.

  • Select all the mail within Entourage’s “Inbox” and drag the messages into the corresponding folders on the USB flash drive. Repeat this for each folder of messages within Entourage.

  • Remove the USB flash drive from the Mac once all emails have copied to the device. Connect the drive to the PC containing Microsoft Outlook.

  • Open Outlook. Open the USB flash drive. Just as you dragged all the email out of Entourage, drag all the emails into the proper folders within Outlook, one at a time. It may take a few minutes for Outlook to process all the emails. Once complete, all emails (and their attachments) that were in Entourage will now be in Microsoft Outlook on your PC.
