How to Use My Rainbow Vacuum to Dust
Since 1929, Rexair has manufactured vacuum cleaners designed to remove dust and other particles from the air. In 1936, Rexair added water collection to the design of the Rexair Cleaner---now known as the Rainbow vacuum---as a quick and efficient means to gather debris such as dust, dirt and hair in water so that it can't fly into the air as sometimes occurs with canister and bag vacuums. It is quite easy to use your Rainbow vacuum to dust, since Rexair includes a wide array of tools built to clean almost any dusty area of a home or office. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fill the water basin of the vacuum with warm water up to the top of the basin's central dome. Use either plain water, or add two caps of Rainbow deodorizer or one to two drops of Rainbow fragrance to freshen the air as you clean.

2
Assemble your Rainbow vacuum. Place the round, wheeled dolly on a flat surface and then set the basin on top. Attach the power unit. Align it with the basin and dolly so that the air inlet on the unit matches the air intake on the basin. Latch it in place. Attach the hose at the air intake and then snap the curved wand onto the end of the hose.

Select a cleaning tool such as the dusting brush, crevice tool, upholstery tool or floor and wall brush. Snap it onto the curved wand or attach the top and/or bottom straight wands onto the hose and then attach your tool.
-
4
Dust your home or office. Once you've attached your cleaning tool, plug in and turn on the Rainbow vacuum, and begin cleaning as you would with a canister or bag vacuum. Run the brush slowly along the weave of upholstery or other fabrics. Place the dusting brush on a flat surface and run it side to side across the surface---overlapping each swipe slightly to guarantee that you removed all of the dust.
To dust blinds, start at the top left or right corner, slide the dusting brush across the first slat and then move down to the next. Clean floors and walls with the floor and wall brush using a back and forward or side-to-side overlapping motion.

Clean the basin and tools when you are finished. Dispose of the dirty water and debris from the water basin; wash with warm, soapy water and a microfiber cloth; rinse with warm water and air dry. Wash the tools as well or suck any dirt from the tools with the end of the vacuum hose before you turn off the vacuum.

Tips & Warnings
Replace the water in the water basin as you clean if it fills with dust and other debris to make the vacuum run more efficiently.
If you're cleaning glassware or collectibles with the dusting brush, twist the airflow control sleeve on top of the curved wand to open it slightly to reduce the amount of suction. To increase suction to pull a lot of particulate matter from upholstery, other fabric, rugs or carpeting, twist the sleeve closed.
Never fill the water basin above the dome.
Always dispose of the dirty water and debris immediately after you clean, and clean the basin thoroughly as stagnant water can promote the growth of mold, bacteria or other microorganisms that the Rainbow's suction picks up. Not to mention, the water smells nasty if it is left in the basin even for one night.
