Determine the size and shape of paver you want to make. The dimensions of the project will determine the size of the pavers. Smaller patios and walkways will look more appropriate with small pavers.

2
Build a wooden frame from 2- by 4-inch lumber to the size and shape desired. Use 3-inch wood screws to fasten the frame together. A plastic garbage bag can be used to line the form to hold concrete.

Spray the inside of the form with household oil. This makes it easier to remove the concrete paver from the form.

Mix mortar or prepare premixed concrete. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for mixing. Pour the concrete into the mold to a thickness of about 2 1/2 inches for pavers. Cement stains or colors can be added during the mixing process. Trowel the exposed surface to whatever level of finish desired for the pavers.

Tips & Warnings
Build multiple forms either all in the same shape or in different sizes and shapes. Multiple forms will make the project more efficient and allow more pavers to be produced in the same amount of time while the different shapes and sizes can be used to add variety to the project.
Wear gloves while working with concrete.
Handle the pavers carefully. The thin concrete pavers will break if they are dropped.
