How to Install RAM Into Your Dell 8200 Desktop
The Dell Dimension 8200 computer is a desktop computer system produced for the home consumer market. The RAM in the Dimension 8200 is user-serviceable, meaning that you can install, replace and upgrade RAM in the machine without needing Dell's assistance. All you need are RAM modules and some minor computer hardware experience.

Turn off your computer and unplug it from the wall outlet. Remove all other cables attached to the main tower unit and set them to the side.

View the computer from the front and lay it down on its right side. Swing the left side of the case open by pulling on it at the same time that you depress the cover release buttons on the computer case.

Remove previously installed memory modules, if necessary, by pressing down on the latches on either end of the slot until the modules pop free.

Install your new memory modules by pressing them into the memory slots until the plastic latches snap into place and hold the modules firmly in their slots.

Close the computer case, turn it upright and plug it in. You are now ready to use the computer.

Tips & Warnings
The memory in the Dimension 8200 must be installed in such a way that each pair of memory slots has exactly the same amount of memory, otherwise none of the memory will function.
