Open your Internet browser and navigate to Hulu's homepage (link in Resources). Hulu's homepage shows listings for popular episodes, clips and featured content.

Click on any episode or clip that interests you. Select additional shows not visible on the Hulu homepage from the “Channels” drop down or by clicking one of the filter options such as “Most Popular” or “Recently Added.” Click the “TV” or “Movies” links above the main navigation bar to filter by content type. After you click on a show or clip, Hulu directs you to the show's page, where the show or clip automatically begins playing in your browser.

Click the buttons surrounding the Hulu video player to perform functions: The buttons on the right allow you to switch to full screen, pop the video out of the current window, darken the area around the video player, or switch from standard resolution to high resolution.

Point your mouse pointer over the video player to reveal the play button, closed-captioning controls and volume slider. Adjust the volume and enjoy the show.
Hulu Desktop

Navigate to Hulu's homepage in your computer's Web browser (link in Resources). Click the “Labs” link and click “Hulu Desktop” to view the Hulu Desktop download page. Select the download for your operating system. Hulu offers downloads for Windows, Mac, and the Fedora and Ubuntu distributions of Linux.

Install Hulu Desktop to your computer and launch the software. Hulu Desktop is optimized for use with standard Windows Media Center remote controls or Apple controls for what Hulu calls a “Lean-back viewing” experience on your PC.

Navigate Hulu Desktop's menu with your remote or keyboard. Press “OK” or “Play” on your media center remote control to choose a selection from Hulu's available shows, clips or movies. If you are navigating Hulu Desktop with your keyboard, make your selections with the “Enter” key.

Create a Hulu account. Hulu members can subscribe to shows, rate clips and access additional material restricted from unregistered viewers. As a Hulu member, you can also set default settings for Hulu's video player in your browser.
