Google's Gmail automatically saves the contact information of anyone who sends you email. You can import contacts from email clients and export contact lists from other webmail providers, which might create duplicate contacts in your Gmail list. Merge duplicate contacts using a tool built into Gmail.

      Log in to your Gmail account.

      Click "Contacts" on the left side of the page.

      Click "Find Duplicates" in the "Contacts" panel. After a moment, a list will appear.

      Click on any of the names listed to keep that contact from being merged. The default choice is that contacts with the same name will be merged.

      Click on "Merge" to merge duplicate contacts.
