Churches now use modern presentation techniques.

PowerPoint is a powerful presentation tool that any church with a large format screen can use to enhance services. You can use it to display song lyrics that people can follow along with instead of wasting paper and ink printing out individual sheets. You can even use it to add emphasis to your sermons by highlighting key phrases and quotes for your flock to see as you deliver your message.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a religious template by clicking the Office button in the top left corner of the PowerPoint window, then clicking "New." Select the "Religious" category on the left navigation pane, and choose from the templates that appear. If you do not have religious templates installed on PowerPoint, you can download one from the Microsoft templates website.

    • 2

Type song lyrics from your service onto slides. Be sure you only include five lines at most, and make sure your text is large enough for the people in the back of the church to see. A 28 to 32 point font is best for most presentations.

    • 3

Emphasize lines in the sermon by adding key phrases to their own slides, making sure to make the text very large so it is easy to read while people listen to the preaching.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure your screen is large enough for your church so everyone can see what's on it. In general, you should use a screen at least 8 feet wide for two people or more. Increase the screen size by 2 feet for every 50 to 75 audience members.
