Microsoft Expression Studio is a computer suite that allows you to create digital content using animations and video technologies. Closely paired with Microsoft Silverlight, Expression has the capabilities to create rich media experiences on your desktop, the Web and mobile devices. Expression Studio can be quite a challenging piece of software for those that are uninitiated, but if you are committed, Microsoft has provided a series of web tutorials that can get you up and running.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Microsoft Expression Studio's website. There you will find a series of web tutorials designed by Microsoft to help you get started.

    • 2

Choose the Expression software that you wish to learn about. On the left side of the screen is a menu containing all of the software in the studio, such as Expression Blend, Expression Web, Expression Encoder and Expression Design.

    • 3

Download the starter kit video series for that piece of software. Go through each video one at a time, following along on your own desktop.

    • 4

Download advanced videos after you have completed the starter kit. Now you can begin to experiment on your own. If you have any questions, look for one of the advanced tutorials to help answer them. After you have completed all of the advanced videos, you should have a working knowledge of how to use the software.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the videos don't answer a specific question, consult your program manual. It has an index that can be useful in tracking down intricate answers.
