How to Write an ATV Resume for Writing
An ATV resume for writing must include references to any clippings that you have available as a published writer, as well as any experience you have with ATVs and/or in the off-road community. In most instances, this is not a simple resume listing all your work experience, education and references, as is normally the case. Instead, this type of resume highlights all the experience you have directly relating to All Terrain Vehicles and professional writing.
Things You'll Need

1
Keep Contact Information Up To Date Include your name, address, phone number, email address and website, if you have one. Place your contact information just under your name at the top of the page. Use a font that is easy to read and print on a low gloss page. Do not use brightly colored paper, as this does not come off as professional.
-
2
Be Goal Oriented Write an objective that directly relates to the company to which you are applying. List goals and job duties that you would expect to perform within that company that would highlight skills you already possess. Showing you have initiative to reach for goals looks great on a resume as well, especially in the field of writing, since being a self-starter is pertinent to being successful.

3
List All Related Degrees and Certifications List any degree(s) that you have and refer to how it relates to writing or off-roading. List any other educational programs you have completed or in which you are currently enrolled that have anything to do with writing or off-roading.
-
4
Fact Check Current Contact Information Include references who can verify the information you listed in your resume. Provide information for those in a position of authority that can lend credence to your experience as opposed to friends that worked there or knew you did, as this tends to detract from your credibility.
-
5
List ATV Experience Highlight your awards and accomplishments. Have you ever won a writing contest or a motocross race? Were you a respected columnist for your local newspaper? Are you in charge of your church newsletter? Do you regularly do trail maintenance on your favorite ATV trail? Do you regularly attend OHV events? If so, include all of this information in order of relevance to the job for which you are applying.

Tips & Warnings
When faxing or emailing your resume, always include a cover sheet referencing the appropriate person's name that needs to review your resume.
Spell check the entire document. Then go over it yourself and look for anything the spell check might have missed. You want to display your best work as a writer, not your shortcomings.
