How to Become a Connecticut Public Insurance Adjuster
Connecticut public insurance adjusters are licensed to adjust the damages, and/or losses resulting from fire or other hazards. These adjustments are made on behalf of the insurance policy holders. To be eligible to become a Connecticut public insurance adjuster you must be at least 18 years of age and possess good moral character. Becoming a Connecticut public insurance adjuster requires preparation and the completion of several tasks.

Complete 40 hours of property/casualty class. You must present the prelicense education certificate to receive your public insurance adjuster certification. The webpage containing the approved course providers are listed in Resources.

Complete the Connecticut public insurance adjuster application (See Resources).

Pass the Connecticut public insurance adjuster examination. The webpage containing the center locations to schedule and take the test is located in the Resources.

Mail your documentation, which includes your application, prelicense certificate and fee.
