How to Join Hotmail Nine on MSN

Hotmail nine is a version of MSN's Hotmail email service. Joining Hotmail nine on MSN is free, and doesn't require much personal information. The Hotmail email service offers spam-blocking features, allows you to use mobile devices to check your email and lets you store one gigabyte (GB) of information on its server.

Instructions

1. Go to the Hotmail website and click "Sign Up" to create an account with Hotmail.

2. Type in a username in the box labeled "Windows Live ID." This will be the first part of your email address so whatever you type in here, followed by "@hotmail.com" will be your email address. Type in a password of your choice twice. The password has to be at least six characters long and it is case-sensitive (so if you start with a capital letter, then it is important that the first letter always be capitalized when you type in your password).

3. Type in an alternate email address; if you don't have an email address, click on "Or choose a security question for password reset." Fill in the rest of the application, which includes your first and last names, country, state, zip code, gender and birth year. Finally, type in the jumbled characters that appear at the bottom of the screen into the box labeled "Characters."

4. Read the "Microsoft agreement" and privacy statement carefully, and click "I accept" at the bottom of the screen. Provided no one already has chosen your username, and all the information is filled in correctly, you'll have joined Hotmail nine on MSN.
