How to Replace a BMW E46 HID Headlight Bulb

BMW E46 (3-series BMW) HID headlights use either a 4000K or 5000K HID headlight bulb. The number refers to the color and brightness of the headlights. The HID headlight bulbs are filled with xenon gas, which provides a superior luminosity over halogen headlights. They also consume less power after they have been heated up. However, once the HID headlight bulbs have burned out, you'll need to replace them. Replacement HID bulbs for your BMW can be purchased from most auto-parts stores.
