How to Learn Bowen Therapy
Tom Ambrose Bowen began developing what would be known as the Bowen Technique in Australia in the 1950s. Bowen claimed to have a "gift from God" to assess what was wrong with a patient and be able to heal their bodily pains through gentle touch similar to massage and acupressure. The Bowen technique has many strong advocates who claim that it can eliminate bodily pain from injuries completely. The Bowen technique can be studied informally through books and articles that have been written about it. But to practice Bowen yourself you should study formally from those trained in the technique. The official Bowen Therapy school is run by Bowen's protege, and holds seminars worldwide for those who want to become practitioners.
