How to Install the BearShare 4.7.1 File
BearShare is a file-sharing application similar to LimeWire. BearShare bills itself as a “legal peer-to-peer application” with support for “unlimited music downloads” from a library of over “20 million songs and videos.” BearShare is currently in its 8th revision, but earlier versions can be found online, downloaded and installed just as easily as when they were the current release. Installing the application is fairly simple.

Save the installer file to your desktop, if you have not already. BearShare is currently in its 8th version; it may be difficult to find the specific 4.1.7 installer if you do not already have it.

Double-click the installer file.

Accept the BearShare License Aggrement and Privacy Policy by clicking “I Accept.”

Leave the default folders as they are. If you are an advanced user, you can select “Change folder...” to change the folders where BearShare installs and saves your downloads. Select “OK” to continue.

Click “I Agree” to begin the installation. A progress bar will display how much time is remaining. It should only take a few minutes. Once complete, you will have the option to automatically launch BearShare, create a shortcut to the application and start the program automatically when Windows starts. Check off the options you’d like to enable and click “Done.” BearShare is now installed.
