How to Remove an Auto Dialer
An Auto Dialer is a type of computer virus that uses your computer to dial “900” numbers and accumulate charges that eventually show up on your telephone bill. Additionally, an Auto Dialer may slow the computer and decrease its available memory. Due to the nature of an Auto Dialer, it is in your interest to remove it from your computer as soon as possible. The easiest way to do this is to run an antivirus program. If this is not an option, you will need to remove the Auto Dialer manually by following a few simple steps.

End Associated Processes

Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete."

Click on the "Task Manager" and then click on the "Processes" tab.

End all of the processes associated with the Auto Dialer. For a list of processes associated with the Auto Dialer, you will need to type the name of the Auto Dialer into the FasterPCCleanClean or 2-Spyware search box (see "Resources"). Alternatively, you can type the name of any suspicious process into the Process Library (see "Resources") to see if it is associated with any known viruses.
Delete Associated DLL Files

Hold down the Windows key and press "R." Alternatively, you can click on the "Start" menu, type "Run" into the "Search Programs and Files" box, and then click "OK." This opens the Run box.

Type "cmd" into the Run box and click "OK." This opens the Command Prompt.

Type “regsvr32 /u filename.dll” into the Command Prompt and press "Enter." Note that "filename" should be replaced with the name of the Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file associated with the Auto Dialer. This information can be found by typing the name of the Auto Dialer into the FasterPCCleanClean or 2-Spyware search box (see "Resources"). Note also that not all auto dialers will have a DLL file.
Delete Associated Registry Entries

Hold down the Windows key and press "R." Alternatively, you can click on the "Start" menu, type "Run" into the "Search Programs and Files" box and then click "OK." This opens the Run box.

Type "regedit" into the Run box and click "OK." This opens the Registry Editor.

Locate the registry entries associated with the Auto Dialer in the left pane of the Registry Editor and delete them. To delete a registry entry, right-click on it and select "Delete." For a list of registry entries associated with the Auto Dialer, type the name of the Auto Dialer into the FasterPCCleanClean or 2-Spyware search box (see "Resources").

Click on the "Start" menu.

Click on the "Search Programs and Files" box.

Search for and delete all of the files associated with the Auto Dialer. To delete a file, right-click on it and select "Delete." For a list of files associated with the Auto Dialer, type the name of the Auto Dialer into the FasterPCCleanClean or 2-Spyware search box.
