The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a full-sized SUV produced by General Motors from 2002 to 2009. The TrailBlazer was the successor to the Chevy Blazer. The headlamps on your TrailBlazer are one of the most important aspects of your safety. Using the headlamps is simple and all headlamp features can be controlled through the headlamp switch to the left of the steering wheel. The TrailBlazer uses 9006-type bulbs for the low beams and 9005-type bulbs for the high beams. Make sure your headlamps are always in working condition.

Step 1

Turn the TrailBlazer's engine on. Make sure the headlamp switch is turned all the way to the left in the "OFF" position.

Step 2

Turn the knob one click to the right. This is the automatic DRL/AHS setting. On this setting, the headlamps will automatically come on. During the day, they will utilize the daytime running lamp system which will turn the headlamps on at a reduced outage. At night, the automatic headlamps will turn on. On this setting, only the headlamps will be enabled. This setting is the default setting.

Step 3

Turn the knob one more click to the right to utilize the setting for the parking lamps. This setting manually turns on all of the vehicle's exterior lights except for the headlamps.

Step 4

Turn the knob one more click to the right. This enables the headlamps as well as the parking lamps. This setting should be used when conditions are extremely dark.

Step 5

Push the headlight switch forward to enable the high beams. To return to the low beams, pull the headlight switch to its neutral position. To quickly flash your high beams, pull the headlight switch as far towards you as it can go and let it go. The high beams should only be used when no other vehicles are on the road.

Step 6

Press the headlamp washer button above the headlamp switch to activate the headlamp washer system if the headlamps are dirty. Not all Chevrolet TrailBlazers are equipped with headlamp washers. Check with your owner's manual to make sure your TrailBlazer has them equipped.
