How to Get Free Wireless Internet at Home
Depending on where you live and who lives or works near you, you might be able to tap into free wireless Internet at your home. If you don't wish to pay for Internet at home, your best bet is to see if there are any signals close to you that you can pick up.

Turn on your computer and find the "View Wireless Connections" icon in your task bar. This usually looks like a computer or an antenna. Click on it.

Click "Refresh" to refresh the list of wireless Internet connections. If you see any on the list, it means that you are near some connections. Choose ones with the greatest number of bars and that do not have a lock symbol on them.

Click on the wireless Internet connection you have chosen and click "Connect" to see if your computer will connect to that signal.

Tips & Warnings
If the connection has a lock symbol on it, that means a password is required to log on. If you speak to the person or business who pays for the connection, they might be willing to give you the password so you can use it. Otherwise, you'll have to go with signals that are not password protected.
