1
Determine the measurements of the cabinet's top three sides and mark the dimensions on a 1 by 2 board with a pencil.
-
2
Cut the 1 by 2 wooden board with a miter saw according to the measurements. Secure the boards on the top edges of the kitchen cabinets with a pneumatic nail gun. It doesn't matter if there is a gap because you can fill the gaps in later. Make sure the next boards are even before you nail them. Check with a level. These boards are the base where you will attach the crown molding.

Tips & Warnings
Always double check your measurements, because after you cut the molding it is too late to realize you made a mistake.
When you are cutting the crown molding, turn it upside down so it maintains its shape.
Wear protective eye wear when using a saw to prevent debris from injuring your eyes.
Make sure each cabinet is even and use a level to determine this. If not, you may have to adjust the measurements of the molding. If one of the edges protrudes out past the cabinet side, you may have to cut the molding at an angle to install it on this uneven corner.
