  • Newspaper
  • Liquid dish-washing soap
  • Abrasive sponge
  • Paper towels
  • Commercial oven cleaner

Instructions

    • 1

      Wait for the burners to cool completely. Remove the burner grates and place them on a sheet of newspaper.

      Soak the burner plates in the sink. Fill the sink with warm water, add 1 to 2 tbsp. of a liquid dish-washing soap, and allow grates to soak overnight.

      Scrub the grates with an abrasive sponge. Dip the sponge in warm, soapy water to remove cooked-on food and grease.

      Dry the grates with paper towels.

      Spray the gas stove burner grates with a commercial oven cleaner. Place them in a plastic bag, and allow them to sit overnight.

      Remove the grates. Use paper towels to wipe them down. Rinse the grates off in hot water, and then allow them to air-dry.

      Spray more oven cleaner on the grates if they still appear dirty. Scrub them with an abrasive sponge.

      Rinse the grates off in hot water, and then allow them to air-dry.
