1
Open Photoshop and click "File," then click "New." Name the file "SweetLogo" and set your preferred dimensions, such as 3 inches by 3 inches. Change the "Mode" to "RGB Color" and select "Transparent" from the "Contents" option, then click the "OK" button. Click "View" and "Fit on Screen," which just enlarges your drawing space.
-
2
Click the "Circle" tool, which looks like an outline of a circle, on the "Tools" palette on the left side of the screen. If you don't see it, look for a hollow rectangle or line; these tools share the same space. Right-click one of the shapes and select "Ellipse Tool." Double-click the top left box in the "Color Picker," which is the two overlapping colored squares. Select a red from the rainbow and click "OK." Draw a circle on the "SweetLogo" workspace. It appears and fills with the red.

3
Choose a white color from the "Color Picker," then click the "Paintbrush" tool on the "Tools" palette. Pull down the "Brush" menu and choose a solid round brush head, such as #9. Draw lines dividing the circle into pie pieces; don't worry if your lines aren't straight or exact, they don't need to be.
-
4
Click the "Paint Bucket" and click inside one of the pie pieces, which fills in with white. Click inside alternating pie pieces so your circle has red and white swirls like a peppermint candy.
-
5
(Optional) Click the "Text" tool, which looks like a "T," on the "Tools" palette. A text toolbar appears at the top of the screen. Choose your font, size and color, then click inside the "SweetLogo" box. Type your company name or a phrase, such as "Solo's Sweets," "Cool Cupcakes" or "Max's Munchies."
