How to Install a Satellite Diplexer
Although a signal combiner rather than a conventional router-style splitter, diplexers are required for satellite installations. Perfect for instances where rooftop antennas and satellite dish signals must be combined, smaller diplexers can consolidate and reduce the amount of cabling entering the home, providing a more-streamlined installation.
Instructions

1
Screw on the RG-6 coax cable from the satellite dish to the input leg of the 4 by 5 diplexer. Screw the coax feeds from the outputs of the 4 by 5 unit to the individual decoders. If an external antenna is utilized, screw the coaxial cable from the antenna to the "ANT" input on the diplexer.
-
2
Connect the coax from the output terminals of the 4 by 5 diplexer to the individual satellite decoder boxes. For instances where an external antenna is utilized, screw the single coax feed heading to the decoder into a 2 by 1 diplexer and connect the resulting two outputs in the same manner to the "ANT" and "SAT" inputs, respectively.

3
Head into the menu on the decoders and, using the remote, perform a channel scan on all the individual satellite decoders ensuring that all of the expected channels are received at each box.
