How to Remove Super Glue Residue
Super Glue creates a strong, permanent bond between surfaces. If you accidentally get Super Glue on your skin, clothing or another surface, you can remove it, but you must do so quickly and carefully. Use supplies found in most homes to remove Super Glue residue, restoring the surface to its original condition. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Acetone-based nail polish remover
- Cotton swabs or balls
- Plastic scraper
- Mild liquid soap
- Water
- Cleaning cloths

Cotton balls are gentle cleaners Soak a cotton ball or cotton swab in acetone-based nail polish remover. Squeeze out the excess nail polish remover.

Wipe at the area where the Super Glue residue is located. Be gentle as you wipe your skin, but apply more pressure to other surfaces. Add more nail polish remover to the cotton ball, if needed, and continue to wipe until the residue lifts.

Scrape away Super Glue residue lifted by the acetone Scrape Super Glue residue off surfaces using a plastic scraper.

A mild liquid soap makes a great multipurpose cleaner Apply a few drops of mild liquid soap to a dampened cleaning cloth. Scrub skin or any other surface using the soapy cloth. Rub to remove any remaining Super Glue residue. Use care as you rub your skin with the cloth.

Rinse with cool water and dry with a clean towel.

Tips & Warnings
Place aluminum foil on your work surface prior to using Super Glue.
Wear rubber or latex gloves when working with Super Glue. If any Super Glue spills, you won't end up with it on your hands.
