Mexican Train Rummy Instructions
Mexican Train Rummy offers a new twist on traditional dominoes. Played with two to 10 people, Mexican Train Rummy pits players against each other in a race to build their train and get rid of their dominoes. The first player to play all of his or her dominoes ends the round. After each round ,players add the remaining points they hold to their penalty total. The player with the least amount of points at the end of 13 rounds is declared the winner.
Instructions

1
Shuffle the dominoes face down on a table.
-
2
Pick your hand of dominoes and stand them up in front of you so you can see them but the other players cannot. For four players or less, each player gets 15 dominoes. For five or six people, each player gets 12 dominoes. For seven or eight people, each player gets 10 dominoes. For nine or 10 people, each player gets eight dominoes.

3
Find the player with the double 12 domino. This will be the first player to go. If no player has the double 12 domino, then each player draws equally from the boneyard until it is found.
-
4
Lay the double 12 in the middle of the table and start building a row of dominoes, starting in the center and extending outward toward the players, if you are the first player to go. On the first turn you may play as many dominoes as you can as long as the ends of the adjacent dominoes match in number, and the center facing end of the first domino played matches the center double. Place a penny in the position where your train would have started if you do not have any dominoes that match the center domino.
-
5
Continue play going clockwise around the table with each player playing as many dominoes as they can for the first turn of the round.
-
6
Play only one domino at a time from the second turn on, unless you play a double. If you play a double then you can play a second domino in your turn. You can only play a domino if it matches the open end of your personal train or the open end of another player's train that has a penny on it.
-
7
Draw a domino from the boneyard if you have no legal moves. Play the domino immediately after drawing it if you can. If not, you must place a penny on your train indicating that other players can play their dominoes off your train. If you play a domino on your next turn then you can remove the penny from your train.
-
8
Continue clockwise around the table with each player playing a single domino, except in the case of doubles, until one player plays his or her last domino.
-
9
Add all the dots on the dominoes that remain in your hand after the first person goes out. Each player adds this number to their total score.
-
10
Repeat steps one through nine starting with the double 11, then double 10, then double nine and so on until 13 rounds are played, one round starting with each double in the set of dominoes. The player with the lowest total score at the end of the 13 rounds is the winner.
