Hide an email address on a Mac.

If you are on an Apple computer and would like to hide the email addresses of some of the recipients, you can do so using Mac Mail application. This allows you to use the "Bcc" (or blind carbon copy) function. This is useful if you want to hide the fact that you are adding a supervisor or other person to an email list of recipients.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your Mac Mail email program.

    • 2

Hit the "New" email button in the top of the Mail interface.

    • 3

Click on "View" in the main menu bar.

    • 4

Scroll down and click "Bcc Address Field." A blind carbon copy field will appear in the new email.

    • 5

Write your email in the body of the email. Enter email addresses in the "To" field and in the "Bcc" field. The address in the "To" field will be visible, but those who receive this email will not be able to see that recipients were added to the "Bcc" field.
