ISA blocks inappropriate websites.

Internet Acceleration Server (ISA) 2006 provides Windows network administrators with configurations and management tools for web browsing. ISA controls bandwidth, permissions and website access. The website blocking features are available in the HTTP filter section of the ISA configuration console. This tool is useful for enterprise administrators who need to block large groups of users from inappropriate website browsing.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "All Programs." Select "Administrative Tools." In this menu, click the shortcut labeled "Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006."

    • 2

Click your ISA server name on the left side of the window. Double-click the "HTTP Filter" row in the center details page. This opens a new configurations window.

    • 3

Click the tab labeled "Headers." Headers are sent to the user's browser when a site is requested. You can use these headers to block a website. Click the button labeled "Add."

    • 4

Select "Request Header" from the drop-down box. Enter a search phrase for the website you want to block. For instance, if you want to blog Limewire.com, enter "Limewire" into the text box. Press "OK" to save your changes.

    • 5

Press "OK" again at the main properties window. The website entered is now blocked on the ISA server, so users are not able to browse it on your network.
