Swimwear that makes you feel comfortable will help you during a photo shoot. Purchase bathing suits and lingerie that not only complements your figure, but also makes you feel comfortable. If you have never had your photo taken professionally, or have never been a part of a modeling photo shoot, it is crucial that you feel comfortable with the outfit you choose. Any head shots or full-body photographs taken of you will convey your mood.
-
2
Research professional photographers in your city who have experience taking head shots and full-body photographs for actors or models. Beware of photographers who also pose as "talent agents," because most talent agencies hire outside photographers. An agency or photographer that "specializes" in both fields may not operate in your best interest. When you find a photographer in your price range, have both a head shot and full-body bathing suit shot taken.

Compile a resume of any past modeling, acting or commercial experience you may have. Experiences can range from high school plays to projects of friends. If you have no experience at all, include a brief work history with your height, weight, bust/waist/hip measurements, eye color, hair color and contact information.
-
4
Combine the resume with your photographs in either a PDF file or Microsoft Word file format that can be emailed easily. File sizes that are too big may be rejected by "Smooth Magazine."
-
5
Write an email to "Smooth Magazine" (models@smoothmag.com) with a brief introduction of 25 to 40 words describing your interest in becoming a "Smooth Girl." Attach your resume with photographs to the email before sending. Send the email.
-
6
Prepare to leave time in your work or personal schedule for a minimum of two additional photo shoots, if selected. "Smooth Magazine" may request that you participate in a "test shoot" to determine if you should be featured in the magazine. Should the "test shoot" prove to "Smooth Magazine" that you can be featured, you will be called back for your final photo shoot(s).
-
7
Check smoothmag.com for contests to become a "Smooth Girl." Contests are held at various points throughout the year in the United States and internationally.

Tips & Warnings
An initial rejection does not necessarily mean you cannot model with "Smooth Magazine" in the future. Rejection may occur depending on issue requirements and space, not on your personal appearance.
Determine beforehand if "Smooth Magazine" will cover travel expenses if you are selected for "test shoots" and final shoots. It is important to know your financial obligation in order to participate.
