How to Make a Paper Rose Craft
Paper roses make for a colorful, holiday-specific paper craft. Homemade paper roses can be used as decoration for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or even for a special birthday. Although paper roses appear complicated to make, even children can create a lovely bouquet of paper roses. You can find all the materials you need to create paper rose crafts at any crafts or art supply store.

1
Cut out shapes from tissue paper. Cut out circles from as many sheets of tissue paper as you'd like (you'll need at least 10 tissue paper circles for each rose). Cut them in different diameters, from 4 to 5 inches, with a pair of regular scissors. To make a fancier flower, trim around the edges of each circle in a scalloped pattern or use a pair of pinking shears to trim the edges in an even more detailed pattern. You should have several tissue paper circles in various colors and sizes.

2
Layer the tissue shapes. Layer at least 10 circles on top of each other. Stagger the circles so that the edges are asymmetrical with smaller circles on top.

3
Connect the layers together. Place your finger in the center of the stack of tissue paper circles. With your other hand, carefully lift up the edges of the stack of tissue paper circles so that you can hold the entire stack. Push your finger into the center of the stack and tightly twist the middle of the stack. This twists the rose into shape. Tightly twist a chenille stick around the twisted center piece to hold the tissue paper circles in place. Let the end of the chenille stick hang down to form the stem.

Separaate the layers of the paper rose. Separate the layers of tissue paper to open up the rose. Roll a few of the edges in between fingertips to give the rose a realistic look.
