How to Remove Tomato Sauce From Berber Carpet
A tough, durable carpet, Berber holds up to the worst abuse. Unfortunately, Berber is not stain-proof and needs extra attention when removing stubborn stains such as tomato sauce. Tomatoes are acidic and can leave a permanent stain if not treated quickly. Using certain procedures you can remove ugly tomato sauce stains from your Berber carpet. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- White paper towels
- White rags
- Club soda
- Water
- White vinegar
- Bowl
- Cotton balls
- Hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice

Blot the tomato sauce stain with white paper towels. Blot the stain gently, taking care not to force the stain deeper into the Berber carpet.

Apply club soda to a white rag and blot onto the tomato sauce stain. Work from outside the stain working inward to keep the stain from spreading. Lift as much of the stain as possible with the club soda.

Mix a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water in a bowl. Apply the vinegar solution to a white rag and dab at the tomato sauce stain. Vinegar contains acidic properties that can break down the stain, allowing it to be lifted from the Berber carpet. Continue dabbing at the stain until completely removed.

Saturate a cotton ball with lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide and apply to any of the tomato sauce stain that remains on the Berber carpet. Lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide lightens the carpet fibers restoring the natural color.

Rinse a white rag in cool water and wring out. Rinse the area by blotting with the damp rag.

Tips & Warnings
Use only cold or cool water when removing stains from carpet as warm water can make the stain set faster.
