How Do I Convert Corel Paint Shop to Adobe InDesign?

Corel Paint Shop Pro software allows you to edit and convert images that you have stored on your computer. But if you want to use those images in Adobe's InDesign software, you first must convert them to the JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format. After a file is successfully saved as a JPEG using Paint Shop Pro, then you will be able to place it in any of your InDesign files.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Corel Paint Shop Pro file on your computer that contains the image that you want to convert.

    • 2

Click on the "File" option from the top toolbar menu, then click on "Export." Click on the "JPEG Optimizer" option, and a new dialog box will open.

    • 3

Click "OK," then the "Save As" dialog box will appear. Enter a name for your image in the "File name" field.

    • 4

Navigate to the folder you want to save the converted image in and then click on it. Click on the "OK" button, then your image will be saved as a JPEG file. Close out of the Paint Shop Pro application.

    • 5

Open Adobe InDesign, then click "File" option. Click "Open" if you want to use the image in an existing document; then navigate to the document and click on the "Open" button. Select "New" from the "File" menu if you want to use the image in a new document; select "Document" from the fly-out menu, adjust the page size and margins if necessary, then click "OK."

    • 6

Click in the document where you want your images to be placed. Click on the "Place" option and then navigate to the JPEG file you converted.

    • 7

Click on the JPEG file and then click on the "Open" button. The image will then open in your InDesign document.
