Homemade Wrist Corsage

Homemade Wrist Corsage thumbnail
Wrist corsages can be surprisingly easy to make.

Corsages can be expensive to purchase depending on what type of flowers are included in the arrangement, as well as at what time of year the corsage is being purchased. For example, corsage prices tend to rise around Mother's Day or prom time. Making a homemade wrist corsage for a special occasion is an easy project that saves money and gives beautiful results, even if you have never worked with flowers before.

Things You'll Need

  • Wrist corsage holder--purchased at a floral, wedding or craft supply shop
  • Floral adhesive for fresh flowers
  • Paper plate
  • 3 large fresh or silk flowers as well as several small filler flowers
  • Flower sealer spray

Instructions

    • 1

Snip the stems off of the flowers, leaving only 1/4 inch at the head of each flower.

    • 2

Pour a small puddle of flower adhesive onto the paper plate, approximately the size of a quarter to a 50-cent piece.

    • 3

Dip one of the three large flowers into the glue, dragging the back of the flower gently through the adhesive to coat it. Attach this to the center of the purchased wrist corsage holder.

    • 4

Add glue to the second large flower. Place it to the right of the center flower, leaving space between the two flowers for filler flowers or ribbon.

    • 5

Add glue to the third main flower and attach it to the left of the main center flower, leaving space between for filler flowers and ribbon if desired.

    • 6

Fill the spaces between the larger flowers with alternating filler flowers, applying the adhesive to the backs of the flowers and gluing them to the wrist corsage holder until the corsage is as full as you desire.

    • 7

Spray any fresh flowers with flower sealer and place the completed wrist corsage into the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add bows or ribbon to the corsage in between the larger flowers for a different look.

  • Using flower adhesive over waterproof hot glue makes it a better option for a wrist corsage.

  • WD-40 can remove any flower adhesive that gets on the table or your hands.

  • Keep fresh flowers in the refrigerator until just before you are ready to use them, and refrigerate any unused flowers immediately after the wrist corsage is made.
